Neither Mrs. Oak, McMath Middle School, nor Denton ISD is responsible for what a child does on the internet. It is extremely important that while a child is "surfing the net", a parent is supervising and/or aware of what the child is doing on-line. There are many great pages, resources, etc. on the web for everyone, including children, but as with anything, there are also dangers. It is important to understand not only how to use the internet, but to know how a child will use it so that any dangerous situations can be prevented.
While computers are used in Mrs. Oak’s class, and Mrs. Oak monitors her students while on-line in the classroom, this activity is on a monitored and protected school computer, not a home computer. Mrs. Oak cannot be responsible for what any of her students do at home, much less on a home computer.
Please be responsible and safe while surfing the web. Never give out personal information such as your full name, social security number, home or cell phone number, address, etc. This includes posting this information in your "buddy profile" for instant messaging programs such as AIM or Yahoo or on your Facebook or Twitter profile.
Photo Usage Disclaimer
All photos of students are posted in concordance with DISD’s photo policy. Parents sign agreement with this policy, as with other DISD policies at the beginning of the school year. If you wish for your child’s photos to be removed from this site, please email Mrs. Oak at email@example.com with an explanation of which photos you would like removed. Please include the student’s name as well.
